Winter Vacation in Kashmir 2024: The School Education Department in Kashmir is expected to announce winter vacations in phases, starting December 09, 2024, according to official sources.
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has submitted a proposal to the government seeking approval for winter vacations for primary and higher classes. The proposed schedule is as follows:

Minister of School & Higher Education, Health & Medical Education and Social Welfare, Government of J&K, Sakina Itoo Thursday said that winter vacations in Kashmir schools will be announced soon.
“Winter vacations are a routine matter, but this winter we have reverted back to November academic session. It is also evident that the valley is under the grip of severe cold and students are facing immense hardships.
We want new classes to resume soon and winter vacations announced,” Minister Sakina Itoo told reporters.

The tentative vacation schedule is as follows:

The region has been experiencing severe cold over the past few weeks, making the winter vacation announcement a timely step. The government is yet to officially approve the proposal.
